After talking to my mom about choosing her mother for my role model research project, I learned a lot more about my grandma that I hadn't known before. My mother was so touched by the fact that her mother inspired me this much, even throughout college. She agreed that her mom was an amazing person and she even started to tear up on the phone telling me stories about her childhood with her mother. She made me look forward to researching her cancer and to learn more about my grandmother that I love so much.

Role Model

The role model I chose for my research paper was my Grandma Emma. My grandma passed away this past March and since then my life really feels like it has changed. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August of 2009 and she made until March 24th, 2010. I chose her as my role model because we were very close and I had always looked up to her accomplishments and the way she treated other people. She helped my parents raise me and I really think that she has made me the person I am today. She taught me right from wrong and she was the most positive person I ever met. I miss her so much and I think she will appreciate the fact that I chose her of all the people in my life to be considered my role model.
